The Podcast
The External Medicine Podcast explores ideas in medicine. In January 2021, Daniel Belkin and Mitch Belkin began interviewing physicians, scientists, and other outside-the-box thinkers. Through long-form interviews, we explore a diverse array of non-partisan, heterodox ideas both within medicine as well as from fields such as public policy, healthcare economics, entrepreneurship, and history.

Why we started this podcast
At first glance, innovative medical ideas often appear counterintuitive or controversial. As such, these ideas take time to percolate into medical school curricula. This podcast is our attempt to keep abreast of current medical developments and to explore innovative topics.
